Pathway HL7 Interface Data Flow

 

  1. ADT and Order messages are sent from various HIS or EMR systems and received by the Pathway HL7 interface engine.

  2. The Pathway HL7 interface engine transforms the message to meet PowerPath®’s ADT and Orders specification. The transformed message is then passed to the PowerPath® Interface. The PowerPath® Interface processes the ADT or Order message, sending the appropriate patient information to the PowerPath® database to reduce data entry and maintain consistency between disparate systems.

  3. After the pathology laboratory completes the diagnosis and finalizes the case, the Powerpath® Interface receives the final report from the PowerPath® database and passes the results message back to the Pathway HL7 interface engine.

  4. The Pathway HL7 interface engine transforms the PowerPath® results message to meet the specifications of the sending HIS or EMR system. After transformation, the results message is delivered to the HIS or EMR system.
